I went to the OSIsoft conference in San Francisco last week. It was really well done. If you have a chance to listen Darryl Hammond speak from Alyeska Pipeline you should take the opportunity. He spoke about using SQL and a data historian to due non intrusive maintenance. It was truly visionary.

Hi,
While I realize this is not on the topic of this particular blog post, I couldn't figure out where else to address this.

I see you started the ascompress project on Google Code, so I imagine you might have some knowledge on this... I'm trying to write an application that works with common archival formats (ZIP, RAR, 7Z, etc) and only needs basic reading and extraction methods. (The application is to be an automatic-installer for Sins Of A Solar Empire's arcane-to-install mods.) Do you know of any such libraries in C or C++? Or where I might be able to look for further help?

Thanks for your time! :)
